The absurdist and allegorical “Rhinoceros” is a savage commentary on the human condition.
Rhinoceros" By Eugène Ionesco Directed by Mark Ramont March 19 – 28, 2026 Young Theatre
The absurdist and allegorical “Rhinoceros” is a savage commentary on the human condition where a small French town is besieged by one roaring citizen who has transformed into a rhinoceros. While some are alarmed, others blithely ignore the intruder until one by one the citizenry, seduced by conformity and mob mentality, morph into a herd of rhinoceroses. But as the rhinos trample over the societal norms of an entire town, one man stubbornly refuses to change his form and identity. Who or what will prevail?
