 The sound of Manchester meets Mexico.
With their melodic and melancholic albums like Meat Is Murder and The Queen Is Dead, The Smiths became one of the most fiercely adored bands of the post-punk era, with a legacy that extends deep into the worlds of alt rock and indie rock. Outside of their home city of Manchester, UK, nowhere have they had a bigger and more lasting effect than in Mexico, where The Smiths’ music is still huge decades after the band breakup. Mariachi Tierra Mia presents a night of Smiths favorites from across the band’s discography as interpreted by some of the best mariachi artists in Los Angeles.
