 Los Angeles Youth Orchestra, made up of accomplished student musicians ages 8-18, honors the 1776 signing of the Declaration of Independence in April with an entire performance by American composers, under the batons of Russell Steinberg, Artistic Director, and Jorge Padron, Assistant Director.
The program features:
• Third Symphony by Roy Harris, hailed as the first “great American Symphony” when it premiered in 1939.
• World Premiere of Self-Evident by Russell Steinberg, for orchestra and spoken chorus on excerpts from The Declaration of Independen
