 Dizzy's Jazz Club and the San Diego Harp Academy present "A Tribute to Dorothy Ashby". Harpist, Tasha Smith Godinez, with her band, will perform music by the legendary jazz harpist, Dorothy Ashby.
Dizzy's Jazz Club and the San Diego Harp Academy present "A Tribute to Dorothy Ashby". San Diego's own jazz harpist, Tasha Smith Godinez, with her band, will perform music by the legendary jazz harpist, Dorothy Ashby. Ashby's creative and energetic approach to the harp has inspired a new generation of jazz harpists.
In addition to being the pioneer of jazz harp playing, Ashby was the favorite harpist of both Stevie Wonder and Bill Withers. She can be heard on countless recordings and paved the way for harpists around the world.
Tasha's band includes San Diego's finest! Domenico Hueso - viola and guitar, Derek Cannon - trumpet, Felipe Lopes - electric bass and Julien Cantelm on drums and percussion.
Come out to hear a night of jazz and the harp in a whole new way!
